“This was my Facebook photo for a really long time. The reason why I took this…the reason why I chose to show you this one is because it really does not look like it’s a selfie, but it is. I’m not really in focus in this picture. It just turned out that way.”
Renee sent an email to me, “Hi! Here is the original as promised. Wonderful meeting you and good luck on the project! Although I take selfies quite often and don’t have a problem with them per se, I prefer my selfies be artistic or appear to be taken by another person… not necessarily so it appears I wasn’t alone, although I can certainly see the appeal (as we discussed in the dining car); rather, I take a different kind of selfie so that it is just a photo and isn’t automatically slapped with the selfie stigma.Being a middle aged woman, most of my friends are middle aged, and many of them increasingly view the selfie as something more befitting a younger generation.”
